Carrot Stix question

Featured Replies

Right now, i am using an Extreme (60 Million) Baitcasting Rod/Reel and was thinking about upgrading the rod to a Carrot Stix. (or something very sensitive that wont break the bank)

Is there a Carrot Stix that is designed for baitcasting specifically?

Right now my rod is 6'6", Lure Weight 3/8-1oz, Line Weight 10-20lb, Power MH, Fast Action

I wouldnt mind getting a rod that could go to 1/8-1/4 oz minimum up to 1 oz maximum.

I highly recommend the Powell Max rods! Specifically the 704C 7ft rod. It is an amazing all purpose rod for $139.00. Very strong and extremely sensitive! Don't let the power/action rating scare you either. They are very over rated rods. It is like a MH/F rod.

I Would say Carrot stick or crucial. I have one of each and IMO I love the light weight of a carrot stick and for me the grip is the most comfortable grip I have ever held. The crucial feels a bit more sensitive for me though. But I think the comfort of the grip makes me lean towards the Carrot. Either one would be great at around $150. Shimano's warranty is unbeatable which makes me like my shimanos

one more thing to add.  not sure if it matters but my main fishing style are cranks and top waters.

That's what you should have said in the first place! You don't need an extremely sensitive rod for cranks and top waters.

You know me, I'd get a Shimano, particularly a Compre for $100 (6'6")or $110 (7').

If its for cranks and topwaters a Compre Crankbait would fit you well
