what kind of fishing line works good on baitcasting reel?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what works good on a baitcasting fishing reel , that has reduces backlashs and was good in weed/ grassy water. The baitcasting reel is Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 1003 Low-Profile Reel.

I'll keep it simple. They all work well. The only thing that can reduce/prevent backlashes is the angler. Sorry, but no line is going to help you there.  ;D

Berkley "Gig Game" green

Fluro (As long as it is not Vanish)

Braid: Power Pro or suffix

You can also try the KVD line/lure conditioner to help with line management

If you're going to be fishing in heavy weeds, I would go with braid.

I just made the swite to braid and I love it! I went with FireLine.

im gonna chime in that ive been using berkley 100% flouro on my t-rig rod for about 2 months now... and it is performing great. almost zero memory. id get more if i could...

its really expensive though.

i got what i have on a store closing clearence.

if you can afford it then i would recomend it.... otherwise yo zuri hybrid or yo zuri ultra soft for a copoly line and berkley big game for mono.

i use green big game as well in the 10lb flavor.

cheap enough so that when i do get nicks on the line or if i feel its old and want to change it , my wallet isnt hurting. also being a great line (IMO) is a plus as well.

I really like Sufix Siege. Available at Wal-Mart at a great price. Make sure you put line on reel so it is spinning the spool not like you would for a spinning reel, and of course KVD line & lure the night before.

Trilene XT in 14# test. That's my preference for baitcasters.
