BPS Finese rod

Featured Replies

Looking at the 6'6'' or 6'9'' 1/16 to 1/2 oz BPS finesse rod for throwing small shallow cranks. I would probably use a Revo premier reel I have, or possibly an Abu UC4600. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or is anyone using a similar setup. Rods are on sale at BPS now.

I have the 6ft 9in ml fast with a bps prolite on it and I love it.

Brian, was leaning to the 6'9''. What are you mainly using this setup for?

I have the 6'9" ML. It has a Super Fluke or Houdini Shad tied on about 75% of the time.

I have used it for small, shallow cranks, and it works just fine for that application too.

I've had several other BPS rods over the years, and have either sold or given away all of them. Except this one. I'll be keeping it.

When these rods are on sale, they are at or near the top of the "best bang for the buck" list.

FYI, I use a Revo STX, with #10 XL. It will load and cast the lightest baits you would care to use on a baitcaster.

Well Monday was my first day with this setup. But will use it for unweighted plastics and small cranks. Was using 5 inch senko Monday and caught a 20.25 inch largemouth on it. I have it spooled with 6lb yozuri hybrid.

I have the PF66MLT = Pro Finesse 6'6" ML and I have it paired with an Quantum Accurist Burner with 10# Sufix and I love it.Great sensitive rod.I use it for finesse fishing with small plastics and cranks and haven't had any problems.

For small cranks the 6-6  1/16-1/2 Cranking Stick works for me, especially for 39.99. For plastics, with there single hooks, I like something heavier.

Thanks for your responses and opinions. They are appreciated. Sounds like I can't go wrong with this rod. I'll be ordering one soon.
