Berkley Big Game/P-Line CX Premium

Recommended Posts

Just picked up 900 yards of Big Game and a spool of CX Premium. I already like the Big Game, and I think I like the CX Premium.

Any thoughts on these lines? I know a lot of people really like the Big Game, but I've never really heard anything about the CX.

BTW the Big Game is 15 lb for my baitcasting outfits, and the CX is 10 lb for my spinning.

For a moving bait, you can't hardly beat big game IMO.

P-line puts me off because of their line rating...

I'm not sure if ALL P-Line offerings do it but some of their stuff is so strong because the line is a higher lb test in a lower lb test box. Just compare diameter to strength ratios.

I REALLY like p-line cx premium. It has very nice lb. test to diameter. Now on the other hand even though you did not ask I do not like the cxx p-line. It is way to stiff. And then to throw another curve ball if you have an academy close by go by some of there plain mono in the H20 express brand. I have not fished it yet I put it on a couple of rods. If I like the line its a great value.

you can't go wrong with BIG GAME , as long as you don't buy it at wal-mart as you might get some 5 year old line !!! another VERY good line is triliene XL , i love the managability of it and is pretty strong ......

I'm not too keen on Big Game in smaller sizes, it's great in larger sizes but have had some problems in the 10-12lb range.  CX is a great compromise line but I prefer CXX, I know you posted a dislike for the manageability but on a baitcaster it doesn't effect me.
