So for Christmas I'm asking for 2 $100 Bass Pro Gift Cards to get two new rods; one for jigs and one for Senkos, and finesse worms.

The jig rod I want to be 7' and either MH or H.

The Senko rod I want to be 7' MXF (I already know I'm gonna get a Compre )

I'm unsure about the jig rod though. I want a Powell 7' Mag-Heavy, but it's a bit more than what I want to spend.

A good opt-out would be a 7' MH Lightining Shock to use with braid, and I would have a little bit of money left over.

I've heard and experienced the Shock's are really really good for the money, plus good and sensitive, too. My brother has the 6'6" MH version, and I've used it but not to an extent.

What would you guy's do?

BTW, have you guys held the Shocks? They're incredibly light.

The shock may be more suited for crank baits.

Why not get a 7' MH Compre? You want the most sensitive rod you can afford for Jigs.

Shock has too soft of a tip to be use as a jig rod.I use a Shimano Clarus in 7' Heavy/fast.The heavy action extreme rods work well for jigs too. Those might be more in your price range.

Your choice for a senko rod should work for finesse as well.

i agree with buying 2 Compre rods. i have 2 of them and love them. the idea of the lifetime warranty is bonus.

Another thing to consider is that BPS doesn't sell Powell rods, unless something changed recently.  I would suggest, in your price range, the Pro Qualifier or some of the newer "value" priced rods like the Bucco or Vendetta.  Whatever you decide I would make sure a heavier jig isn't too cumbersome, or atleast the weight you decide to fish, I would look past the M and maybe even MH, onto a H.

I got a 7' MH Lighting Shock and I love that rod.  It is light and durable.  I know it's meant for just freshwater, but I have been using it in the bays around here too and it is holding up better than my old salt rod.

Never used that rod but I like using the heaviest tackle possible. For jigs and larger worms a heavier and longer rod will definately help you out more in hook-up ratio and getting bass out of cover.
