I have a revo premier, last years model, and would like to buy a nice rod to put it on. I don't want to spend over 100 bones on it and I would like to fish 20lb braid with it for jigs, t-rigs, spinnerbaits, and swimbaits. Suggestions??? I was thinking either a

st. croix mojo or a lamiglas excel but I am unsure about what length/action would be perfect for what I am looking for. Also what kind of warranty does lamiglas offer for their rods??? Thanks in advance.

I would recommend a higher lb/test. 20lb test is too thin of a diameter for most casting reels. Thicker braid will almost certainly work better on your reel. There's nothing wrong with using 30lb or 50lb braid on a casting reel.

For what you want to do with it, I'd look for a 7' MH Fast rod.

i would also recommend using 30 pound that's what i use on most of mine and love it. as far as rods go i would go with the lamiglas 7 mh fast like said before. The warranty on the lamiglas is limited life time, and the mojo is 5 years I believe. Lamiglas is also American made. best of luck

Look at the Powells... 703c or 704c  might be what you're looking for..  they retail at $139.. wait a couple weeks and i'm sure TW will probably have a sale and you could get them right around a hundred "bones"

thanks Dan, I have 30 lb braid on my citica and 15 lb braid on my curado, maybe something heavier would be good. Near the end of summer when I was fishing jigs more with 20 lb test I was breaking off more than I should have (on logs). I think I'll put 50 on it. I have fished 50 before and I kind of miss how strong it was  ;D you could swing almost anything and would normally bend the hooks before the line would break. thank you for saying that. I also think the MH 7' rod would be good as I only have one 7' rod and it's a medium power rod, I have read that X-fast action rods are better for jigs/soft baits. Does this normaly hold true?

I handled my friends powell and liked it alot, if in fact they do have a sale on them that will be the rod I get.

I definitely prefer XF rods for plastics and jigs. I also like them for spinnerbaits.

What all are you using that for?

I back all my reels with 30# and occasionally use a leader of flouro if I think its necessary. I use braid for jigs, t-rigs, spinnerbaits, topwater, i will use a leader with carolina rigs or on jigs and t-rigs in extremely clear water, but most of the time i fish straight braid. the only time i use other things is on my spinning reels, for most finesse techniques or crank baits.

From the best rods under $100 thread...

Rods (short list)

All Star: Classic or Team All Star

American Rodsmith: Champion Series or Team Series

Berkley: Series One

CastAway: CTX or SLX 3

Daiwa: Tierra or S-Casting

Falcon: Original series or LowRider XG

Fenwick: HMG

Quantum: Energy PT

Shimano: Compre

St. Croix: Mojo Bass or Premier

This would be almost identical to my list of rods to consider
