BPS Pro Qualifier Rods

Featured Replies

How are these? I handles an Extreme combo, and it was light and felt exceptionally sensitive. Anyone have experience with the PQ's?

I've got 2 Extremes and one PQ. The PQ is a nice rod, noticably lighter than the Extremes, if that's important to you, and probably more sensitive, although I can't tell much difference.

Like most BPS rods, it's a good rod for the money, especially when on sale. You can't really go wrong with either.

I have five Extremes and one 7' PQ MXF. The PQ is easily my favorite rod. As Daniel said, it is lighter than the Extremes. Nice rods for the money IMO.

would you guys recomend getting the PQ over the extreme?

It depends on what you want to use them for. For spinnerbaits/chatterbaits, jerkbaits, top water including frogs and buzz baits, or other reaction type lures, I think the Extremes are just fine. For plastics, jigs, and other contact type baits I will buy the PQs from now on. The Extremes are OK for these applications, but the PQs are better IMO.

How are they compared to name brand rods...like a Powell Max?

Fat-G as I mentioned on another thread, the only way to compare tackle IMO is to handle it yourself. I have never fished with or even handled any Powel rods. I am sure they are high quality rods. How they compare to Extremes or PQs I can't say. I have fished with a variety of name brand rods, and for the money I believe these rods can't be beat.

My Extreme feels like a broomstick compared to my "name brand rods." It is a MH that is more like an XH and it is heavy and not very sensitive. I use it as a swimbait rod.

im thinking me and my buddy are planning a trip to the orlando BPS to check out some rods im really leaning towards the BPS brand cause it seem like a great bang for the buck.
