SJR 843 or PR 844S

Featured Replies

Looking for a 7' spinning rod which will mostly be used for weightless 5" and 6" senkos, ikas and beaver type baits.  In instances where I'm bank fishing around my house, it will be my only rod and will likely face: LMB, SMB, Northern Pike and Muskies.

I'm leaning towards the SJR 843, especially after Speedbead's thread the other day.  However, I'm interested in views from those who use the PR 844.

The other catch is I would have to buy the PR 844 without trying it out, no one around here will bring in a saltwater rod unless you commit to buying it.

Cheers

The tip of the PR844S is too soft. Technically, this

is a saltwater popping rod. It is my main smallmouth

rod for fishing shiners on a split shot rig. It will

work great for any "moving lure", too.

X2 8-) Great rod for live bait rigging and float fishing. Does nicely with small topwaters like Splash-Its, Gunfish, etc. Definitely a more moderate action rod.
