I've been talking about building a crappie rod off a fly rod blank. Well, I finally ordered the materials. A 7'-9" 3 wt fly blank. Hopefully it performs like I think it will. Should feel nice with a small real on it. Anyone use something similar?

    When I was kid 50+ years ago I used a small diawa reel on a light weight fly rod, it was lots of fun, get a net.
