St Croix Legend Tournament vs what?

Featured Replies

How does the Legend Tournament compare to other rods in that price range? I was looking at just Loomis rods, but checked out a L/T St Croix over the weekend that I liked. A 7ft M "Tube Rod"

Specifically how sensitive vs other rods. I got an idea of it's action and weight.

I had that tube rod. I sold it because I didn't like the reel seat and I wanted to try a Cumara. I think the LT was more sensitive than the 7'2" M XF Cumara that replaced it.

if your talking spinning it is fast action and weighs 3.4oz

oh, it happens. Just pointed it out to see if you had any other info about the sensitivity for him.

no help on sensitiviy just won an avid and a legend on a ebay auction, haven't got to use them yet

ive got two LT rods, both baitcasters. i love em. i still think you should check out the Dobyns Champion seeries for a 7' or 7'3" medium action spinning rod though. but you will not be disappointed with the St Ctoix rod

I have the LTB shakin and finesse spinning rods and they are fantastic! The blank is thin and the graphite is ultra rich. I use these rods for shakey heads, tubes, and occasionally drop shots. The sensitivity is outstanding!

St Croix is my first choice in rods.   IMO you would like the LTBS68MXF finesse rod better then the LTBS70MF tube rod.  It is a much more versatile rod.  I have the 1 tube rod in a legend elite and 3 finesse rods 1 in the legend elite and 2 in the legend tournament.  The finesse rods are my work horses when it comes to a spinning rod.  The tube rod gets very limited use.

Yeah I'd check out the Champion series. I've heard they're very sensitive while being very light and well balanced. Either way you go I'm sure you'll be happy.

I find Loomis rods to be a tad more sensitive than the corresponding price range St. Croix's.

But for overall satisfaction St. Croix builds great rods.  They are fer sure sensitive enough, they feel great, balance well and the power/action balance is outstanding.  I have several St. Croix rods starting with the avid series up through the tournament bass and into the legend elites...I enjoy fishing with all of them.  Plus St. Croix service is top notch.
