Is this an old Bagley...?

Featured Replies

...Or a Bandit Footloose?  Just wondering.

The fellow swears it's a bagley, got a little sore when I asked, but it sure looks like a bandit to me... Maybe it's just the camera angle that's throwing me off...

Looks like a bandit and that doesnt look like Bagley's firetiger pattern. :-/

Yeah, bagley has 2 firetiger patterns, one normal and one matte finish, but that isn't it.  But maybe back in the day they used a pattern like that, they used to have all sorts of patterns available and maybe that was one of them...

Forget the pattern, I 've had Bagley baits since 1980 and have never seen that lip in any of the models I can remember about right now.

I have to agree, I don't think it's a Bagley's.  Beware!

Yeah, it looks just like a footloose to me.  Even has the triple grip on the front that comes stock on those baits.  Or at least they used to.

I have to agree with Raul & Jimzee.  I have been using since they 1st. came out.  We had a Bagley Rep in our bass club back then so we had access to all the baits & I just don't remember a lip like that.

It's a Bandit. 8-)

Correct.  There is no debate.  Don't make me grab one and take a pic...I've got several.  Front hook is stock; the back is an Eagle Claw red hook.

The original Bagley's had a brass wire in the body that made up the hook hanger and the line tie. The diving lip was glued in and was as wide as the body and visible along the side of the body. I've got several of the originals. The later made ones have the steel eyelets for the hooks and line tie. My all time favorite size was the Diving Killer B 1. I still use some occasionally.

I was pretty sure it was a bandit footloose, but the guy is adamant.

Maybe that guy got took by someone else.

  • Author

Maybe.  But he took me for some sort of idiot telling me to compare it to the other B1s... Either way, it doesn't matter now, he took the auction down.

Are Bagley's so much more valuable than Bandits that someone would be tempted/willing to intentionally misrepresent?  I guess I'm questioning motive?
