Pistolgrip Casting Rod

Featured Replies

I'm looking to get a 6' or less casting rod with a pistol grip styled handle.  This will be for short casts and skipping.  Does anyone know who makes a rod like this? or, does anyone use a rod like this?

as far as i know a lot of rods are still made with this option.

I use pistol grips in the 5'6" and 6' lengths.  I have a Chatterbait rigged on one and a spinnerbait rigged on another now.

I have a gl3 cr 663 and i absolutely love it! Unfortunately they are no longer produced.  They do however make a spinnerbait series rod that has a relatively short rear handle.  St. croix avid series makes a pistol grip.  I dont know how you are about your tackle but the berkley's lightning rod pistol grip is a fantastic rod for the price! they make 5'6" and 6' that have a fast taper and are very stout and will only run you about 38$.

IIRC, Allstar has a Team rod in a pistol.  I have an old Bionic Blade, IM6 rod I've had for years.  Love it.

St Croix only makes the pistol grip in the Premier line now, and only 1 rod, a 5'6" Medium power/Fast action.

Nice, what brand are they?

I think I'm leaning toward the bionic blade, because I like my bionic blade trigger rod a lot, I didnt' realize it came in pistolgrip.
