Question about the different P-Line...lines???

Featured Replies

Hey all.....

I am a big braid user. Last year, I mixed in P-Line Flouroclear to fish jigs with. I was very happy with it. I had asked a question in a previous post about the best mono line that members have used and again I was directed towards P-Line products. I have purchased CX Premium, and some CXX line. Here's the question: All the boxes read the same...flourocarbon coated line...what is the difference between these lines??

if your talking about the difference between CX and FLOROCLEAR , that is a good question  ;D ;D ;D

There are different lines out there made of different materials. Some may be a fluoro coated line, but the CX and CXX are actually its own type called copolymer or copoly (2 or more polymers). They use the fluorescent as a color name rather than a line type., kind of like Power Pro braid green, yellow and so on.

I do wish they would be a bit more clear on stating the type of line because the box usually just says Pline CX, Fluorescent clear and in small wording on the side or back does it actually state it is copoly line, so it can be easily mistaken as fluorescent or fluoro-coated mono line.

The difference is that CX is a copoly, but is "fluorocarbon coated" so 2 or more polymers with a flourescent coating; whereas the CXX is just a colpoly with fluorescent as one of the polymers.

Fluoroclear is almost the same as the CX, but uses a different copoly formula, and from what I have seen is not as good as CX.

That is EXACTLY what I am asking!!! Seems like the same product with different letters in front of them.

All that matters is that box says "CXX" on it.  ;)

if your looking for a strong fluorocarbon line , try Maxima fluorocarbon or Gamma edge fluorocarbon , 2 very strong lines , if you just want a really strong line use CXX .....
