Swim Baits

It depends on how you want to use it.

I love the Mattlures Bluegill during the Bass and Bluegill spawns. It also works great worked like a jig on the bottom. I'll be using the tube swimbaits for schooling fish this year and a couple of hard swimbaits for when the fish are feeding up.

I don't use the fancy type swim baits, but have tried the soft replaceable Lake Fork Live Magic Shads, and they are KILLER!  They are an exact copy of the Imakatsu Javellon (Spelling?).  They smell so strongly of garlic, your fingers will reek of it for hours.  If I go out with a two packs of these shads (4 per pack) I will not come home with a single one, they get torn to shreds.  You should get 2-3 fish per bait, more if you use some glue...

I use storm and clacutta swimbaits.   They work great for me.  No need to buy them high dollar swimbaits when these work  just as good.  Plus I'm cheap.    ;)

Some that I looked at on the web are Hugh, I'm thinking they will ware you out in no time. :;)

I just recently picked up a couple packs of Luck-E-Strike Magic Bass swim baits.  I got them in the 4.5", but wish I would have seen the 5.5 or 6.5".  They have a good price and look great in the water, only drawback is they have a STRONG smell of plastic, I have tried to douse them with garlic with a little success.  They are a tube instead of solid so a flutter hook works real well with them.

i have some in the 5.5 but i didn't get to strong of a bad smell. the smell is present but i have to stick my nose a half inch from the bait to smell it.

Mine came when I opened the package.  Normally you get some kind of scent smell, but the plastic smell seemed almost overwhelming.
