That sounds like a crankbait rod to me.  Will it work?  Yes.  Will you want something with a faster action?  Almost certainly.

ok, only reason i was asking is because i am very iffy about the rod in the forsale section of these forums and found the rod mentioned aboved on another site that alot of my friends have had good expierences with.

would extra fast action be bad also? because another rod came up that had extra fast action and was medium heavy.
