I'd like to hear how some of you fish a plastic jerkbait(fluke,slug-go,etc.)Basically just how do you rig yours and retrieve it.Just looking for something I haven't tried or thought of yet.Thanks. ;)

This past year I found a new way to fish a Super Fluke. I use this technique to search for the bass when they are in the hydrilla. But I guess it could be used anywhere.

Supplies needed:

Super Fluke

Large barrel swivel

Regular offset, round bend worm hook 4/0 or 5/0

18 to 24 inch leader.

Take the large swivel and tie the leader on then tie the main line to the swivel and tie the hook to the other end of the leader.

Texas rig the Fluke. But make sure the hook is on the back side of the Fluke not on the side with the groove.

If fish this rig in a Med X-fast rod.

Now all you have to do is cast it out and slowly reel it in. It should have a slight side to side action but it shouldn't be spinning. If you use a EWG hook it will spin. You must use a Regular Offset Worm hook. The large swivel is the weight that keeps the Fluke just under the water.

Double Fluke Rig

1. Cut two leaders one about 24-26 inches long and the other 12-13 inches long.

2. Tie a swivel onto one end of each leader.

3. Put the main line coming from your rod through the swivel of the short leader. (Do not tie to the short leader.)

4. Tie the main line to the swivel from the long leader.

5. Tie a 5/0 EWG hook onto each leader and put on your favorite Fluke.

I will also put a small fluke on the short leader and a Super Fluke on the long leader to make it look like a larger fish chasing a smaller fish.

Put a couple of glass beads between the swivels to make some noise.

I like to rig them weightless and fish them shallow just above the hydrilla and sometimes even let them get caught in the hydrilla then jerk them out of it them let them free fall. One of my favorite technique when fishing from the shore.

So the hook point is in the groove side then?

Gotcha now thanks. ;)

Here's a good step by step with pictures.

I don't know if you posted this fluke, but I think I saw some one post it here a while ago.

I never got to try it last year, but I will have to use it this season. Looks promising.

As a trailer on a Blakemore  ;)

Looking at your double fluke rig,Gene, did anybody see the Strike King show a week or so ago?

Mark Menendez was fishing double flukes on what he called a donkey rig.He only use one leader on a barrel swivel and let the front hook slide above the swivel.Like he replaced the sinker on a c-rig with a fluke.

It made for an awesome presentation. He caught two 5 lb+ bass on one cast!

I'll file this one in the need to use category  ;)

I'm trying that tommorow. Sounds like a great idea!

Yep. I saw that. He used a dropper rig. But instead he used a fluke. It was cool.

I saw both the Strike King show and an In-Fisherman show that both used the double fluke rig in different ways.

Mr. Menendez talked about the hooks being able to slide apart from each other being good if you're fighting two fish at once so they can't break off.

Doug Stange used a rig where you tie a double surgeons knot with a leader to the main line which gives you two tag ends to tie your hooks to for this rig. I see the advantages to not having swivels in front of the flukes, such as more weedless. But if you have two fish on they could pull apart from one another.

Any one else see this episode? Any thoughts on the best way to rig this?

I'll 2nd the Double Fluke Rig I've used that for a couple of years now and have caught some nice schooling fish.
