US Reels

Featured Replies

Anyone tried these new reels, they are coming out with more affordable versions and I was wondering if they are worth trying out. Can't find anyone that has one and tw doesn't demo them.

BassCats, I have not heard anything good about US Reels so I have avoided them.

However, the guy who services, repairs and modifies reels in Powhatan County, Virginia, tells me the US Reels are very good.

So people who have used them don't like them but a guy who works on reels does.

Go figure????  :)

My buddy has a bunch of Supercasters, and he loves them.  He also fishes Daiwa Steez, along with some Ardent reels, and other assorted Bass Pro label reels, so he has a pretty good perspective.

I noticed that cabelas has the 1000 on sale for $179.00. My buddy purchased a supercaster1000 about a month ago. He loves the casting ability but his tends to bunch up the line in certain spots on the reel when retreiving. The last time I spoke to him he thought he had found the problem but had not tested it again. I would think for the price, you could purchase another reel. If you buy it, and dont like it, its going to be harder to sell then an Abu or Shimano or Ardent.

Keep us updated on your decision.

They are most interesting looking I will admit.  I haven't tried one, but I am considering trying one out.

Later, :)

Rogers Lures in Liberty had the US Reel spinning reels on sale for around $50.  I bought a couple and they work great with braid and fire line.
