G Loomis Bronzeback GLX spinning rod?????

Featured Replies

Considering purchaseing one and was curious for some feedback on them.I've never used a GLX but have a regular bronzeback [spinnin and casting]and love it as well as the shakey head rod but not wild about the extra fast tip.I fish 1/8 to 1/4 jigs in the river primarily.I guess my question is is there that much difference in senitivity ?

My partner fishes a couple and really likes the

Bronzeback line, but I think they are too soft.

Take a look at the SJR783 or 843 and see what

you think. The BSR852 gets great reviews, too!

Yes - there is a big difference in sensitivity in my hands. Honestly, the GLX bronzeback rod is a bit too whippy for my tastes. The BSR 852 GLX is the ideal for your situation - it's an amazing 1/4 oz jig rod IMHO - and I'm not only saying that because I just posted one for sale ;D

Another question ,do you think the extra fast tip makes a difference?Castability in light weights, tranfering feel [better or worse].The bronzeback rod is a fast tip and the senko rod you mention is an extra fast.I have a regular shakey head rod and haven't liked it as much but the br.back rod I use is a 6'3 so maybe that contributes to the difference to me.Thank you for you time and input.

I'm a big fan of the way Loomis executes their extra fast tips on their 2 and 3 power BCR/BSR rods.  I have become very comfortable with the feel and consider it an advantage when fishing jigs and plastics.  I do think it allows lighter baits to load the tip with less effort, but regarding sensitivity, that is obviously subjective, but for me these rods are about as sensitve as they come.
