I'm planning on going to cabelas soon and i want to get a spinning rod-reel combo that can throw from 1/16 to 1 ounce, if thats even possible? what should the spects be, like medium action, 7 foot, etc? anything helps

1/16 - 1oz rod to my knowledge does not exist.

the best range you can get is probably 1/8-1/2oz which is what my main one is

look at the St.Croix Avid series spinning rods. the 6'9" ML/XF should do the job for you. i believe it is rated for 1/8 - 1/2 oz. which is extremely versatile. And from what i hear the Avid has some very nice sensitivity you wont regret.

id also look at the Shimano Compre Spin Rod 6'8" Medium XFast. rated 3/16-5/8. i own one of these and they are one of the best $110 rods you can buy IMO.
