parabolic rod?????

Featured Replies

i have a cranking carrot stix in seven and half foot with a parabolic bend. i have found my self doing less and less cranking. i was wondering if i could use this rod for some other kind of purpose or is the parabolic action going to hold me back. Help me out with this one. Thanks

I wouldnt see a problem with you using that rod for moving baits, (ex: spinnerbaits, cranks, frogs, topwater) But for texas rigs(where you have to rip the hook through the plastic) you probably want a fast action. But for most of your moving baits id say go for it 8-)

It's a crank-bait rod basically , you can use it for other techniques but the results won't be as good. Sell it and get rods more to your liking.

It really depends on the power of the rod IMO. A MH with plenty of backbone will work fine for single hook moving baits like spinnerbaits and chatterbaits; a lighter power rod not so much. Just my $.02  ;)
