Sorry i should have searched first, but I think I have my answer!!

These rods used to be really popular on here. They have fizzled out a little now. There have been some quality control issues that give the rods a questionable reputation. Bad guides and a few breakage issues come to mind.

I never was big on them. Too bright.

Here are a few threads from way back. Enjoy.

That's why you talked me into getting one instead of buying one yourself you arse....at full price none the less.  I hope you get that job so you can buy a Dobyns Champion  :;)

Personally I was on the fence....I had a 6'9''MH LTX, didn't hate it, didn't love it....Sold it.  I have a 6'10''MH Gold and I'll fish it until it breaks, I've attempted to replace it but nothing can hold a light to it.  Paired with a Daiwa Sol and it's just an amazing combo, it's light, balanced, sensitive, and FLASHY  8-) .  I've had some trouble with the tip being grooved by copoly.  It doesn't effect anything at the moment but it's a quick fix if it does....Any of you rod builders out ther want to rewrap it with micros for me?

Thinking of picking up a CLTX67M-S 6'7" M/MF as a crankbait spinning rod since they are on sale now at Cabelas.

*** has them for 90 dollars now so i got another one because thats 60 dollars off the normal price.  Too good of a deal to pass up when i split the price with my dad.

Thats one of several reasons I hope that job works out.  If I don't change my mind, that will be my first rod purchase.  7' MH.

This is what I'm wondering about.  I need a new baitcaster for heavier baits and with the sale price on the gold version its only 129$.  I'm wondering if someone who has used them for awhile can recommend them or not?

Trust me I've done many searches on this subject but none of them talk about whether or not these rods are worth it at the 89 dollar or 129 dollar price point...

To me, that may make it worth it.

Cabelas has them for $90 as well and thinking it's a good deal myself for a 1 pc crankbait spinning setup

I have to admit, I've been curious about the 7'2" and 8' ML spinning in the Gold series. The reason being their construction.

I am always on the lookout for a new slip-bobber rod for 'eyes. If possible, I would like a rod that is buck-naked. The above rods fit that criteria.

The rods I use for this presentation must have a soft tip, in order to protect the live bait on the cast. Leeches are hearty enough to stay put, but minnows are a different story. I like to make long casts, to cover water, so a soft tip is a must.  Unfortunately I don't know anything about the above rods, as E21 has never returned my calls.  :;)

I have been using St Croix Premiers for this task, and I'm curios if the Gold Series trumps them in sensitivity.

I would like to step-up the the LT Walleye Slip Sticks, but I don't have that kind of cash right now.

Just a matter of preference and I'm 10 min from Cabelas and can have it shipped to the store and pick it up for free. Never had a problem with them on the customer service either and I think we both will be satisfied with the rods whomever we chose.

Good luck
