Gander mountain made by quantam? link included

Featured Replies

ok so i have heard from several people that gander mountains reels were made by quantam and i thought yeah right.  so i was goofing off today and thought i would compare the GM reels to the quantam.  check out the third pic on this GM reel.   http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=419921&pdesc=Gander_Mountain_GSX_Titanium_Baitcast_Reels&aID=504AA2&merchID=4006

It's a code, plain and simple, the white one is a burst, and the black one is a catalyst. They don't need to say quantum, they're pretty much "re-paints", nothing wrong with it. They're old reels were Pinnacles

In the reels write up this is the give away text to who the mfg is.

"ACS II cast control provides long true casts." that is a Quantum TM...

One thing to research before purchase, is after the purchase is there service & parts for the reel/s.They are considered by many service shops as re-brands and are NOT supported by the factory that tooled them...
