Has anyone fished with the GIRON Sinking baits? I saw one in a demo water tank that was on the bottom but resting on the treble hooks and staying upright.

SHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! :;)

No......not good........no...nooo

The Giron is a good bait but nothing out of this world. I really like T.H. Tackle Senner.

Short video:

The Evergreen Seadrive is another great bait.

Thanks for the replies. I watched the video. I'm not interested in it's swimming motion or how well it casts. What interested me was the way it suspended just above the treble hooks that were on the bottom. It looks like a prefect bait for bed fishing, especially the bluegill model.

You're gonna get snagged alot using the giron like that. Get yourself a Mattlures Bluegill instead.

Thanks T-rig, will the Mattlures Bluegill sit upright on the bottom on slack line? I have a similar bait (not sure what mfg) that lays on it's side on the bottom. I'm not worried about getting hung up since I wouldn't use it for anything but a verticle presentation to a visible target.

Has anyone ever actually used a treble "stinger" on their Bluegill? All the photos I have seen of them show the bait w/o a stinger.  Would it affect the drop rate or it's ability to stand "nose down" ?  If so, what size hook?  I know that Matt's site recommends a size 1...just checking to see if anyone had other thoughts....Thanks!

I've got the Crappie...but haven't fished it yet.  Here in Texas...the state record (18.18lbs) was caught by a crappie fisherman when he caught a crappie and a huge bass chased the fish as he reeled it to the surface.  He dropped his shiner back down immediately and caught the bass...which ended up being the state record.  I thought the Crappie Giron seemed appropriate for my new nest in Texas.  I'll add that Jackal baits are just top notch in every respect...from construction quality, to hooks, to fish catching ability...excellent baits.

osbornj2 The gills will sit upright nose down just like the picture. Thereis no line tied on them, thats just how they sit. A belly treble will not affect it.

Matt - thanks for the note.  I will probably try it first w/o the stinger, and if I find that I am getting a lot of short strikes, then I will try one.  Does this sound like a good strategy, or do you recommend a stinger all the time ?  I really do appreciate the advice, as I am a complete newbie in the swimbait game!
