I picked up another odd item at local tackle shop today. It was a special order color Hula Grub. I have never seen anything like it from GYCB. I asked the sales guy about it and he was not sure who order them but he did say that they were new. There is no color number on the package. It just says special order.

The one I picked up has a pumpkin with black flake body and solid black skirt. He had other odd but good combos, like black with a chartruese black flake skirt and smoke with blue flake with a black with blue flake tail.

Just wonder if anybody else had seen stuff like this from GYCB. I had no idea that he made some actual Custom baits.

Yup I have seen custom GYCB laminates. It was a black/blue laminate senko with blue flake in the black and black in the blue. I have seen some crazy other combinations too.

I always find it amusing that some people feel the need to customize their yamamoto's.  but then again the 5" double tail HG only comes in 85 colors so I guess it's understandable...... :-/

I kind of thought the same thing.  With all the different colors, why make more?  

But after I saw a few of what was available, the color schemes sort of made sense and would seem to be good to add to the regular run.  On the other hand, there are some colors I will probably never buy that are made on a regular basis.  It's not like there making a purple/red/chartreuse with silver/gold/blue flakes swirled laminate  Senko or what ever else is left over at the end of the day to make some off the wall color combination Senkos.  

You can custom order many of the skirted GYCB baits.  They have a small minimum, I think 6 bags.  At least this is the way it was a few years ago.

You pick from standard stock colors of the skirts and the bait bodies and they put them togther for you.  You can do with this the hula grubs and ika baits.  Black/Blue Fat Ika w/chartreuse/black skirt is a good one.

Now, if you really want a custom color, you can have any color you want poured in any of their baits.  10,000 bait minimum.
