Steez Rod Repair

Featured Replies

I have a Steez that needs two eyelets replaced. #2 and #3. Can you guys give me some ideas on a rod repairman?

Thanks

You really should look locally. The shipping on a rod is about $20 each way alone. The job itself is probably less than $20 depending on the guides used. With a more detailed location I might be able to point you toward someone.

I would asked to see someones work before I let them touch that $400 rod and/or be willing to pay the shipping to get it repaired so that it doesn't look like it was repaired.

The Steez rod has a finish that covers the entire blank, if the repair is not done by a professional it will runin the look of the rod.

I hear ya Steezy! Maybe I should just send it to Daiwa and have them handle. I didn't pay retail for the rod. I bought it in the Flea Market with a bunch of other gear. But still I want it to look right.

Steezy's point about checking the work of who you deal with is excellent advice. A builder worth there salt would be able to do that repair though.

You not only want the rod to look great , you also don't want someone to do anything that would weaken the rod.
