Ardent reels

Featured Replies

Does Ardent not make a left handed reel?  I notice TW.com does not carry any leftys.  If not, is there and hope for an Ardent lefty in the future?

I hope so! I really like their flip and pitch reel, but i only flip-pitch with lefty reels, so i guess i'll have to wait.

TW is selling Lefty Revo STXs for like 140. You could just get one of those in the meantime.  :(

I am good right now, but in the future I might think about upgrading and was considering Ardent, but if no leftys then it ain't gonna happen.

Have you ever wondered why some of these companies aren't smart enough to give the customers what they want ?

I was just checking ardents website, and i still don't see any lefty reels.  :'(

An Ardent rep was hanging out at BPS last year and I asked him about LH reels. He talked about how expensive it was to create both LH and RH reels and all the different equipment needed to do so. That seemed odd and small time to me as I looked down the reel counter and saw all the other LH brands. Now granted most LH were done overseas, but still.

Just another reason I'll never own an Ardent. That's such a joke.

With the cost of tooling up a LH reel here in the US, and the sales volume Ardent has on their current reels...  they would be losing a lot of money.  That would be a horrible business decision.  They will make a LH reel when they create a model that will have better volume.

Even if they made lefties I wouldn't use one...

I don't try to talk anyone into buying a Ardent reel but I have several and love them, but I use right hand reels.

I spoke with the president of Ardent reels several years ago and he said the cost of a mold for Magnesium is very expensive. He told me the actual figure but I can't remember for sure but it was in the high 5 figures or low 6 figures, and that was each.

They will in time make a left hand reel, just not sure when. It takes a great deal of money to start a business that competes with Shimano, Pure fishing etc.

and the only way to stay in business is to make smart decisions as you grow. In time they will make one............Al
