Need line advice for Cielo Worm & Jig rod.

It is the 6'6" spinning rod model. Line rating is 10-17, lure rating 1/8 to 1 oz. I'm going to be using an Advantage 2000A on it. Reel specifies 135yds/6lb or 110yds/8lb. Don't know what all baits I may try with it, but am going to start with those listed on the rod.

I've never used flouro and would like to spool it with braid...for bite feel and for ease of casting. Will use a leader if necessary. I'm thinking I would like to use 6lb equivalent although 8lb equivalent isn't a deal breaker. This means 30lb Samurai, 14lb Berkley Fireline Micro-Dyneema Superline or 20lb for every other brand I looked at (didn't check all available lines).

Vicious Moss Green is USA made and comes in a 300yd spool for about $3 more than a 150yd spool of Samurai. Vicious any good? Any other made in USA braided lines?

McCoy makes a Hi-Vis Yellow and Orange, although a quick search didn't turn up this fact anywhere other than McCoy's website. PP makes a Hi-Vis Yellow. Would such colors be a help in detecting bites...at least while I'm learning to fish jigs?

Am I all wet for thinking braid instead of flouro?

BTW, why would a company produce 77 or 82 yard spools of braid? I realize there would be no waste if a person just knew how much backing to put on before splicing the braid. I don't. :)

Man, that's a heavy duty rod. I think you might like

30/8 braid.

I went from being an ultralight fisherman with spinning equipment to liking MH rods with baitcasting gear. I actually didn't realize I was getting a spinning rod when I ordered it, but at ohya's closeout price I wasn't going to return it. I saw Worm & Jig and immediately assumed baitcasting rod. There was no BC in this model available. Only other models they had left were dropshots.

It's a very nice looking rod. More powerful than any spinning rod I've ever used before. I would rather use a baitcasting rod with jigs, but this is such a nice rod that I am determined to use it.

I've only seen one thread on this rod. One poster liked to use 95mm to 128mm jerkbaits with it. Another used it for all sorts of topwater baits along with jigs and various worm techniques.

So far this rod hasn't had a reel mounted, and the tags are still on it.  I'm trying to get ready for next month when the lakes will be ice free.

I like 20# braid on my spinning rods for bass.  Great rod choice by the way.  I have the baitcasting version and love it.  I just wish I could have snagged one of the longer ones when they were on sale.

I held off  a week too long when TW was clearing them out.  Missed the casting rod.  :)  I was a bit miffed at myself.
