Quantum Smoke Brakes

Featured Replies

Interesting, mine definitely does not have that braking system.  Going to have to look into this that's for sure.

where did you purchase your smoke from?

I would say the different body styles have different braking just like the standard Energy with ACSII and the Energy SS with the ACS3

After looking at the pics closer, that is the 150 size and not the 100.  I can't find anywhere that actually tells you what braking system comes with each one.

I am pretty sure that the smoke comes with micro acs nine position break system standard in all smokes whether it be 100 or 150.

The 100 just says ACS on the side while the 150 reads ACS3.  What's the difference?  Is that the reason the 150 costs more?

150 has more line capacity and is available in 7.3:1 at only slightly more weight. ACS I have no idea. :o

I've had my smoke 100 for a while now and just noticed bpro and some video's/ pics online have smokes with the newer ACS 3 braking system: http://www.basspro.com/Quantum-Smoke-PT-Baitcast-Reels/product/10208929/-1742607

Am I missing something here?

give us a review on those smoke 100 reels , been wanting to get a few , would love to hear some feed back on how they are and comparisons against other reels !!! , thanks  :o

tackle tour has a review of this reel. Being a new member i cannot post a link to it  :o

Seems the 150 size come with ACS3 and the 100 series get the ACS braking system. Tackle tour did a preview of the new 150 size baitcast reels awhile back. The smoke is not listed but does have a 150 size reel and seems the ACS3 system is the braking system for this size of reels.
