Boyd Duckett Rods......

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the difference between the red Boyd Duckett Crankin series rods(laserlure editions) and the white Micro Magic Crankin rods?

I see the price is 189 for the red one and 169 for the white one.....Is there a quality or weight difference there?

Thanks for your input in advance.....

I don't know what the difference is but I own a micro magic 7ft MH and it's evenly balanced and light. I haven't used it yet but as of now I am very happy with the purchase. I have it paired with an abu garcia C3 and it is very comfortable.

I don't see a difference except the foam and  color...you're paying the extra $20 to Lazer Lure for putting their name on it

I think you must be right about the Laserlure name being the money difference.

I held one of them in my hand at Gander the other day and was blown away by how light that rod was!

I'm sold. I'm going to order the Micro 7'11 for my deep cranks. It's longer than I wanted but the light weight should more than make up for that.

Thanks!

Are the Laser lure blanks not a composite versus glass?  That was my understanding.  I also thought the Laser Lure rod was considerably faster than the MM, and it recovered much faster.  That said, I've not fished them, only fondled and coveted the Micro Magic 7-11 MH.
