Impressions? I can get one new for $90, good deal?

Thanks,

VC

Great deal on a reel that fishes above it's MSRP imo.  At $90, it's a steal!

Great frog reel, or swimbaits. It's just so big I would rather have a Curado e7.

Edit: It is smoother and quieter than my Curado e7, and it casts better. I just like my e7 more.

If it does all that then why do you like it better.Does your e 7 handle better or something.

Power handles, I just love them. It's also a lot smaller and easier to palm. The e7 pitches better too, which is more important to me.

Nick,I would get it, or you could buy it and if you don't like it I will buy it from you. IMHO they are right up there with Curados, the only thing I rate the curados higher on is there ease of modifying.

I think this is a really underrated reel. Very smooth, casts EXTREMELY well, etc. I think the downfall is the footprint. It's a noticeable larger reel when compared to Zillions, Revos, Curados, etc. and this makes it a bit less comfortable to fish for me.

In my opinion, if Daiwa shrunk the profile of this reel and kept it in the same price range, they'd have a HUGE winner on their hands.

I totally agree. Make it the size of even a Zillion and more people would buy it. It's really a great reel, it's just huge.

it is a nice reel and the quality is fantastic but its basic design goes back to 2005, before the current wave of super low profile/super lightweight reels. once upon a time, i owned the 153HSTA and the 150H before it and i much prefer the smaller profile of more modern reels. sure would be hard to pass up for $90 though.
