harshman Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Just got back from the lake........ The fishing was actually a lot better than last time.....well catching anything makes it better than last time. Quinn, Val , my wife and I were all who showed up. Thanks Val for putting this together even though we didn't fish a tourney we fished any way and caught fish. I'm sure Val and Quinn have much better stories to tell than I since they stayed longer. The wind was to much for me in the Basshound to stay and fish. Harshman Quote
Super User cart7t Posted April 26, 2008 Super User Posted April 26, 2008 Glad you guys caught fish. It turns out I had a reaction to a mixture of medications that caused my heart rate and BP to go nuts. It was not a good thing I'll tell you. I was on Perry county on Friday, stuck a 6lb 9oz fish and still only stayed 3 hours, I just didn't feel well. I owe Nathan a trip here. Maybe one of dinks Washco tourneys. Quote
Quinn Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 It was a nice day out to fish. Val and I caught a total of 10 fish. The three "qualifying" fish we caught totaled aprox. 4 + lbs. lots of small ones. I was looking forward to meeting more of you folks, but I was glad to fish with Jason, his wife (I forgot her name sorry) and Nathan they are good people. I was a glass is half full about the whole thing we were garanteed at least 2nd place in my first tournament and I didn't have to shell out $$ for gas for the boater ;D. The wind did die down about 2:00 or so and the banks loaded up with people fishing for crappie it was a beautifull afternoon. I'll post the one pic we took soon. Quinn Quote
Quinn Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Ok, here it is if you must see it. It is my 1 lb 13 oz. I didn't resize it so here is the link. http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll82/rugsrme/DSCF1682.jpg Quote
Valascus Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 Well, I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in the turn-out for the event. But that said, I completely understand why many folks couldn't make it and it would be stupid for me to be irritated about it. Other than that, the fishing was far superior to last years event. I ended up with 6 fish total, catching 5 on a GMAN made PB&J poison jig and 1 on a Bandit 200 white/chartreuse crank. Quinn did pretty well too, nailing 2 of his fish on Orange/Black swirl Tiki Sticks texas rigged with a 1/4 weight, 1 on an *** Sour Grape *** T-rigged the same as the Tiki Stick, and his first bass ever caught on a crankbait. The fish in Quinn's pic was actually a part of a double we had. We literally simultaneously yelled "Fish on!", and brought them in seconds from each other. As was last year, the most productive spot seemed to be "the Jetties". As Harshman said, the wind was pretty cold and fierce early on, so Quinn and I just got tired of fighting the wind and beached the boat and bank fished the jetties. All and all it was a fun and enjoyable day and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Quote
IllinoisBasser Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Dink is currently without a computer and wanted to pass on an invite to anyone who's interested. He is currently looking at the 1st one near the end of May and holding one a month for the rest of the season. Cost is $20 a boat and is 100% Payback. Washington Co. is a 10 horse restricted lake. Boats over 10 horse are welcome and may run the big motor to trailer their boat only. I'll post more information when I have it. Anyone interested can send me a PM. Quote
