RWHusker. Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Can someone provide some current info on Tablerock, going to southern Missouri next week (May 19-23) and hoping to fish. Is the water still to high? Thanks for the help. GO BIG RED Quote
tkite16 Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Yes the lake is still 14 1/2 feet high and the water is clearing. Its not too high to fish . They are spawning but hard to get to. The trees on the orginal bank are sitting in 14 foot of water so you cant really get to them spawning except in a few small pockets which are being hammered. Last i heard they were gonna hold the lake up til sometime in July. Bull shoals is still so high there is no where for the water to go. Quote
Brian1224 Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 Hey I am going to table rock in 2weeks so let me know how you did. Quote
srv1990 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Fished the last four and a half days (5/14 to 5/18). Between my brother in law and I we caught about 40 fish, with me netting 7 keepers (14 lbs 7 ozs) and him 6 keepers (just under 12 lbs.). The ticket for us all week was a 5" single tail Yamamoto grub in green pumpkin, fished on 3/16 or 1/4 oz jigs. Fish it very slowly whether on the bottom or suspended 10' to 15' down. We did get a few on the double tail version, as well as a green pumpkin Fish Doctor fished on a split shot rig... but the single tail grub was in the water 90% of the time. We fished Indian Point, Beardsley and as far down as Clavenger, but the area we had the most success in was between the dam and State Park marina, but opposite side (west) of the lake. Netted some fish on main lake points with our boat in 25' to 30' of water. Did better, though, once we moved off the points to the corners and then down the banks of the coves. We positioned the boat a little closer to the bank and fished as close to the flooded trees and brush as possible. Majority of fish were smallies, with a fair amount of spots. Very few largemouth, also a few goggle eye. Most of the fish were spawned out, just still hanging in the trees and brush recovering and waiting for an easy meal. Unless you are very good (we are not!) plan to lose lots of jigs by getting hung up in the brush. But the trade off is a 2+ lb smallie hammering your jig and heading to the bottom! Good luck, Tom Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted May 19, 2008 Super User Posted May 19, 2008 my club just fished this lake, the winning boat targeted evergreen trees in 4-8 feet of water. Quote
