Bassin' in Mazatlan, MX?

Featured Replies

So me and my buddies are thinking about a trip to Mazatlan, MX for spring break this year (Feb or March).  Apparently, it is about an hour or so away from El Salto and there are multiple charters to take a two-man party out for a day of trophy bassin', but has anyone here on the boards been to Mazatlan?  Anywhere else in Mexico for that matter?  Any lodges or guides in the area you recommend?

I've been away from the forum for a few months but I know a while back there was a BR member from Mexico (Raul I think was his name, but I could be wrong on that).  He seemed to be a good source of information.  If I'm wrong, someone else here help him out and put him in touch with a good source.

Keep asking around and I'm sure someone here will be able to help you out.

Good luck.

Mike

Try insideoutsidecharters.com and speak with Chappy Chapman about staying in MZT. He can hook you up for some inshore fishing. Day trips to Salto can be expensive, but are an option. Tell him El Grande sent you and I am sure he can hook you up.

If you want to hit a more remote lake, get in contact with David Fields, a sponsor on this site for some fast action on Lake Huites.

Been to Mazatlan many times there are not many ways around it it's about $300 a day per person to fish any of the Local lakes El Salto & Commodero, I am going to Mateos in two weeks and have a group forming to go to El Salto in November we got a real good deal from a lodge over $500 off a 5 day package
