Is Mend-it involved? You can do some pretty cool things with Mend-it.

Peacock Bass
Nice fish. I took some of my staff down to the canals last week. They had a blast. There were three fish caught at about 4lbs. Had to find the warm water. I did see a LM on the bed in the canal that was huge. She was laying eggs and not interested in anything thrown at her.

Tungsten: Insert or No?
Baits without inserts are slightly more costly, but worth the extra funds imo. I agree with the greater sensitivity when using tungsten w/o plastic inserts.

Everybody should have a set of these !!!
Very good recommendation. They would be like fire insurance, hope you never have to use it, but thankful you had it if it does happen.

Fishing stock ponds for T.V. shows....
I like watching these shows, no matter where they are fishing when there is 6" of snow on my porch and 5" of ice on the lake. Sometimes they do go overboard on the promotion, but I am still thankful I can watch a fishing show in the middle of winter. We have filmed on El Salto a few times and each time, the bass seem to know the cameras are there. No ducks in a barrel on one of the best bass lakes in the world. 6 Days of filming to get less than 18 minutes of footage.

Tilapia patterened baits
The new Bill Lewis High Def Rat L Trap in the Natural Tilapia pattern is as close as I have seen for Falcon.

Tilapia patterened baits
Same color on a Norman DD22 does well in Mexico.

Tilapia patterened baits
Are you asking for hardbaits? A tilapia colored hardbait is not necessary on Falcon. A sexy shad or close colored crankbait is fine. I have some Tilapia cranks, but I just do not think you need to spend that amount of money on crankbaits for Falcon.

What breed of dog would make a great fishing buddy?
Yes, they are called Gentle Giants. I think the largest on record for the breed was at 260.

What breed of dog would make a great fishing buddy?
My wife is a dog trainer. For Christmas, I bought her a Newfoundland which she is eager to train in water rescue. I am sure that dog will spend a lot of time in the boat with us. Rather large dog and not for most people. He has put on 4 lbs a weeks since he has been part of the family. SHould top out at 150-175lbs. He is sitting here next to me as we speak, quite a beautiful dog!

Indiana Fishing Expo 2010
Should be a great show. We set our booth up this afternoon and there is a very positive atmosphere among the vendors. Please take the time to attack your cabin fever and visit the show. Stop by the El Grande lures booth and I can give you some updates on Mexican Bass Fishing along with up to date information on fishing in Brazil and South Africa.

Bassin' in Mazatlan, MX?
Try insideoutsidecharters.com and speak with Chappy Chapman about staying in MZT. He can hook you up for some inshore fishing. Day trips to Salto can be expensive, but are an option. Tell him El Grande sent you and I am sure he can hook you up. If you want to hit a more remote lake, get in contact with David Fields, a sponsor on this site for some fast action on Lake Huites.

Bass fishing Cuba.
Hey Redline, I am anxiously awaiting the lifting of the ban. I have read every article written that I could find on Cuba bass fishing. I believe Roland did a show down there, but I may be mistaken. I have heard of people flying to Canada and then to Cuba to get there. I would never try that, so until then, I am waiting.

Worlds most realistic frog bait?
Matt, That is very odd about the bullfrog tadpoles. I buy bullfrog tadpoles once or twice a year to place in my own lake behind the house. The salesman I buy from has several ponds around the shop loaded with 4-6lb bass. The bass are very, very FAT. I inquired as to how his Indiana bass are so much bulkier than my own. He grabbed a bucket full of bullfrog tadpoles and went to the dam. It was like cattle following him. He would throw in handfulls of tadpoles and it was a feeding frenzy. Not sure if this in itself disproves what you said, but seeing was believing.

Unusual carcasses
OK, I have to do it. I found more than one human. While stationed in Panama, I fished the canal, Gatun Lake, and areas surrounding the river. Common practice for the boats entering the canal was to dump their dead before the Panama Canal Commission Employees boarded the vessels. In turn, we got a number of floaters onto the beaches over my 4 years there. Unfortunately, this was heavily shark infested and many of the bodies found were mostly trunks if they made it to shoreat all. I only found one myself, close Ft Sherman, Panama, but as an MP, we got the call when others were found. Plenty of stories to tell my grandkids!

Toad Mold Problems
No way to pour that mold without opening up and pouring the legs first. Alternative is to get an injector from Bears baits and modify the nozzel to fit the mold.

Back from Brazil
Water is high right now from what I was told last week.
