It is much better to re-schedule. I am glad they can get you into the lodge in January.

Heading to Colombia, looking for advice on Peacock bass
You aren't kidding abut the ladies. I almost married me a beautiful Colombian girl about 20 years ago while I was living in Panama. Good luck, be safe, and post some photos when you return.

Heading to Colombia, looking for advice on Peacock bass
First, You need to check all hooks onto the plane, no carry on with hooks. You can get a couple of nice travel rods to carry on with your reels. Check out FishQuest for lures as they have a nice assortment. Colombia? Please be careful and stay aware of your surroundings. Your much safer in the Jungle than in town. Do not go downtown after hours for any reason if that is on your itenerary. Go to www.peacockbassassociation.com for more info.

Huites & Baccarac
Don't forge there is a paying sponsor on this website that has a lodge on Huites, David Fields. If you are thinking about going to Huites, give David a call. I believe David can also get you onto El Cuchillo.

Wildlife Creations Replicas?
I am pleasantly surprised at the detail of the edge of the fins. Looking at their examples on the BPS site looked like the fins were an after thought. Hey El Grande - do you mind posting the photos you mentioned of the live fish? That might help give us all an idea of how close they color matched. Thanks! This is the 11lber. The top fish on the mount. A little yellow from some dirty water. I thought the match was pretty good.

Wildlife Creations Replicas?
Easy Matt ;D I know my photography skills aren't great, but come on That's my oldest.

Wildlife Creations Replicas?
That's ok. The paint job is actually right on. If you compare the replica to photo, they did pretty good. When you are from IN and catch a fish of this size, and skin mounts are out of the question for me, these are pretty close. I keep photos on the wall near the fish so when I tell the story, I can point to the live fish and relate that the fish was released unharmed and the replica is a salute to the fish and memory made when it was caught.

Bluegill color pattern!
I am under the guidance that ORANGE is needed for a bluegill pattern just under the chin and running down the belly. ORANGE absolutley can make a difference. If you throw an ornage bellied frog when the bass are spawning, chances are, you will have more blowups.

Wildlife Creations Replicas?
I have had 4 fish done. I think they do a decent job. Here is a double that they did for me a couple years ago.

New Pet!!!!!!!
Russ, not sure where you are getting your numbers, but here is a pretty good article for you pertaining to the amount of food a bass needs a day. Maximum of 15% of body weight down to 5% daily. I have seen you throw that number out before and just curious where you get that? http://aqua.ucdavis.edu/dbweb/outreach/aqua/201RFS.PDF

Plastic baits are hollow
Pour slow and make sure you top the mold off a couple of times. Pour 1, wait a few seconds, top off, move to the second, top off, back to first, top off if necessary.

Marketing yourself the intelligent way part 1
Brian_Reeves, I was impressed with your above post on wanting to help a company. If Rage Tail plays their cards right, I think they would do well to keep you around.

How NOT to approach a company!
HUH... seems to me like you don't stick with anything... 12 years in the army??? what the flip?????? ;D Just joshing you.... Thanks for your service... and your right... someone says "hey man" to me and they won't like me... but like you... I am an "old school" professional attitude adjuster AL That's funny. When they told me not to allow anyone with anti-Clinton bumber stickers on their vehicle through the gate in 1992, I started to get the hint that I need to move on.

How NOT to approach a company!
That is pretty intrusive Earthworm. I don't know if I am gettng crankier as I get older, or there are more idiots making it through the natural selection process without being eaten. I do not think people are reading these boards before they post their resume or email. For the most part, it does not show.

Re: My Bass Career
I will try to help you out a little. You do not have anything in your resume that stands out to me. From the description of your accomplishments, though admirable, are a dime a dozen. You are simply a tournament fisherman of which there are thousands. Support your career????? We are not in the business of supporting your career. Until you understand that, you will never move forward with this. If your career happens to go well while you are associated with a company, great, and we hope it does. We are in the business of supporting our product and partnering with staff. Can you honestly say at a job interview that you would ask the interviewer how he or she is going to support your career? I really do wish you well, but I think you have a poor understanding of how this business functions. Don't feel bad, you are not alone. I don't know who or what the culprit is that makes people think that businesses are rushing to give away money and product so that someone wears their logo, hat, shirt, etc.. I have three staff presently. Only one fishes tournaments, and at a local level. They test product, they answer questions in my absence, among other things. Only one approached me about becoming staff, the other two I approached based on being good customers, good communications skills, and just being down to earth guys.

Lake El Salto Mexico?.
For you guys that were interested in a trip, I am going to Guerrero the day after Thanksgiving for 3 days. Just got back from El Salto last week. Checked on plane tickets for a November trip back to El Salto and they have doubled. So, I am taking my field staff with me to Guerrero for a few days. I think there is room for twelve and 4-5 of us are going as it stands now. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss the details.

HELP ME IDENTIFY FISH (another weird hybrid pic)
Definately part sunfish. Never did see stripes. I am looking at the one I have in my aquarium as I type this and can't figure that one out. Is that the only one you caught like that?

El Salto
There is a good topwater bite beginning in Nov. It should be around the last week in 2008 based on a dark moon. Just like I said in the pm, I like Feb a little better.

anyone flown with fishing rods lately?
This is not a good answer, but it depends on the airline and the clerk. My last trip to Mexico in 02/2008, no charges. In fact, the only time I was ever charged extra was in 2004 and that was by Continental. I tell most travellers to be prepared in the event you are charged.
