When do you guys start Bass fishing again?

Featured Replies

Bass fishing starts as soon as the ice starts to disappear.

for me it's April 1st, as that's when NYC DEP allows us to use our boats on the reservoirs, assuming that their ice free.

I hope so man, wouldn't that be nice?  I just want to go out with my baitcaster and be able to fish a jig in a pond.  I don't even care if I catch anything.  Well, that's not true, but it would be awesome to have a shot at catching a bass this time of year, and not through the ice.

Yesterday

The wind was horrible! I had a couple of bites on a small tube but did not catch anything.

Allen, I didnt know you were in Hagerstown? I just read that under your name.

If you end up hitting some MD water this year and need a tag along, let me know!!

Sure, I usually can't find anyone to go so I fish by myself 90% of the time. Just picked up a bigger boat too :) 18' Xpress with a 150 Optimax that has plenty of room just need to register it in MD.

Around here we fish form ice out until ice on, and even then I might fish through the ice.

As far as baits, it's really hard to beat a suspensing jerkbait, and a jig. That's pretty much all I use until the spawn.
