Going to raystown tomorrow, wondering how the fishing has been there. smallmouth should be on. Anyone been up lately?

My buddy fished there two weeks ago.  he caught a 6 lb 3 oz largemouth on a jerkbait.  In the tournament there were no limits caught.  But that was back when we had that cold snap come out of nowhere.  You should do ok if you're going up this weekend.

I went last weekend I caught 7 biggest was 3.8 smallie. My buddy caught 10 biggest 4.9 smallie. Good fishing use your jerkbaits and shallow cranks over weeds.

lol see i told you raystown wasnt that bad  ;).  I bet the 3.9 smallie brightened your day.  did u find a school on a point?

Sat. was a good day to be a fisherman. Caught 5 smallies, biggest was 3 1/2 to 4 lbs. and 4 largemouth, biggest was around 3 lbs. My buddy caught 3 and lost a big largemouth. Don't get many days like that on raystown.

Does anyone know of any open tournaments on raystown?

Here is a list of Open Tournaments that are run by clubs in the PA Bass Federation (from the minutes of their last meeting).  Scroll down to the bottom of the minutes and you will see a list of the Open Tournaments.  Looks like Independent runs Tuesday night open lunker tournaments, and Standing Stone runs Wednesday night buddy open tournaments on Raystown.  Also Susquehanna Valley seems to be having something in the beginning of June.

Thanks for all the info guys. I found the open tournaments on the pa bass website, but couldn't find exact meeting places, times or entry fee's. Any more info would be appreciated.

tubesock, here is some contact Information:

Independent Bass Masters

Standing Stone Bass Masters

You might also contact Seven Points Marina, (814) 658-3074, and see if they know of any open tournaments at Raystown, and also ask them the name of some local bait and tackle shops who might know of open tourneys.

Good luck
