Newbie to Boards, York County PA

Featured Replies

Hi All, new to the boards here although I am on BPS and TT pretty heavily.  I just moved to the York Area to finish up my college career.  I am DYING to get onto some fish.  I walked around a part of Lake Redman a few weeks ago and didn't see much as far as shore access goes.

I know I am not TOO far from Harrisburg and Duncannon, but I am wondering if there are other fishing opportunities from shore closer to me.  I am very very familiar with Duncannon, River Front Campground, as I spend about a week there with guides fishing the Susque and Juniata rivers for MONSTER smallies.

If anyone is looking for a fishing partner on weekends, or Friday's after 10am, please shoot me a PM.  I will fish for whatever your quarry is, as long as it swims!  I will gladly split expenses if you have a boat.  I may be youngish (23) but I feel I can hold my own to any fishing situation, no baby sitting needed ;D

Shoot me a PM or post in here if you have any more information on the area.  This seems like an awesome site with tons of information.

Welcome! You will find a lot of guys from the lesser part of the state! ;D  Speedbead and Basser 89 among the usual suspects 8-)

Welcome to the boards bigbaitfisher! I live in MD now but I grew up in Juniata county so I'm not too familiar with the waters that would be close by you. I'm sure some others will chime in with more information closer to you! FYI, keep an eye out of Muddy's one thread in this section. He's planning a get together for board members at BPS in Harrisburg sometime in October.

Check out Holman lake in Perry County ( Lil Buffalo State Park)

You can walk access 60-70 % of the lake, A clear lake compared to Redman.
