Fredrick Lake near Harrisburg, Pa

Featured Replies

I'm planning a trip to Fredrick Lake this Friday. Never fished there before. Any tips.

Thanks

Can't say I've ever heard of that lake. I tried to do a google map on it but nothing came up. I had even pulled up a map of around Harrisburg to see if I could find it that way but no luck. Is Harrisburg the closest town/city? Maybe someone a little closer may know something.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that one! Yeah, sorry, I've never fished that! Like I said, hopefully someone else can give you a little insight! If it's below TMI, you should have favorable water temps. I just started fishing the one coal burning power plant close to me on the Potomac. Good luck and let us know how you make out!

I sure will....The power plant you are talking about, is that Dickerson ?

Dickerson? Never heard of it! LOL!

Was there over the weekend. Managed a small largemouth out of the canal and then hit the discharge for smallies. Nothing big on the smallie side, caught them on tubes and cranks. I do have the power plant in Williamsport as well but that place gets crowded REAL quick!

I hear there is quite a mixed bag to be had at Williamsport there Basser.

At or near the power plant, I have only caught smallies, an occasional largemouth and a handful of rock bass. Someone else I know can add walleye to the mix too. I have heard of muskies being caught there in the winter too but have never witnessed that.
