Icefishing?

Featured Replies

How many New Englanders ice fish? Just got into it bigtime last year.Couple pike here and there, 4.4lb largemouth just some of the highlights. I'm building a portable heated shanty this fall and look to do way more ice fishing, just wondering if anyone else icefished and would be interested in an outing once the water gets hard

The water just north of me gets hard. We go up to Potter county 2 times a year and make a few local trips on the weekends. I haven't caught anything close to what you've caught as far as size. A few dink bass, a few 20 inch pickeral, more trout, perch, and bluegill than I can count. It is fun, I only notice the cold when i'm not catching anything, which aint to often when ice fishing. Good luck!

I love ice fishing , but havent done much the last few years.  Last year we only has about 7 days of ice that you could walk on.  If the ponds actually froze again I'd love to dust off the auger.

I'm from northeast ct. and it was wierd last year as far as ice goes. Any ponds at the top of the state would be froze, drive 20 min. south no ice at all. and we would have 8-13 inches consistantly.
