hello all. i qualified for the junior world championship (junior FLW) up in pittsburgh (kittanning) PA late july. i am going with a friend to prefish this sunday and i need info on the place asap. i will be fishing pool 7 of the river. i need to know if it is dangerous to run in a fiberglass boat. also any info on catching fish there would be great but most importantly the anatomy of the place (rocky shallow deep etc...) thanks in advance

you can run a glass boat up there but like any river things change by the rainstorm so be on the lookout and travel in the channel if your not sure. it gets barge traffic so obviously its deep enough for that.

if your not limited to pool 7 i would suggest locking up to fish near east brady. mahoning and redbank creek dump in up there. lotta good current and smallies. if your limited to 7 get up by the dam and watch your a$$ up there for sunken crap that'll peel you open like a sardine can.

Stay in the channel and your good, fish around all the islands just south of the launch in Kittaning it's maybe a half mile. Then go a little further south another mile or so and fish around the barges that are sitting there. These spots always produce for me.

i have the junior world championship up on the allegheny pool 7 this wednesday. can anyone please give me some info on fishing pool 7. and also does pool 7 run south along the town of kittanning after dam 7 or does it run north from dam 7. any good places in pool 7 i should hit?? what is the water clarity like if there is no rain?

hmmmm...when I fished the B.A.S.S. and FLW Junior world championships they had a 30 day form of off-limits where you couldn't ask others questions, search for info and fishing reports, and you definitely couldn't post about it. :-/ :

Tin, i have no such restriction. it says in my rule packet i cannot recieve any info from people who have been on the water during the off limits time which starts tonight at midnight or solicit any info after MIDNIGHT  tonight.
