Here's a place to start, the MI-DNR guide for boater access sites.

You might also want to see what you can find out about the Huron River.  The Pinckney State Game Area has a bunch of lakes including shore fishing and boat rentals

If you fish from a boat, go to Oakland Co., there are about 20 lakes from which to chose, half without launch fees. Get your contour lake maps off dnr website, and pick a couple of lakes that suit your style of fishing.

on Huron river. Bass-Ackwards gave you an excellent place to start.

I fish Huron quite a bit.Fishing is awesome right now there, but I'm finding more smallmouth than largemouth. It seems to be a window opportunity of when they will bite and when they won't with the LMB.

I wish i had a report on Kent lake today, but since they are doing construction around that area this weekend i decided to wait till they are done.Really didn't want to drive out there today. :-[
