Upstate NY

Featured Replies

Anyone fish the Cannonsville Reservoir in Upstate NY?  How was your luck?  I'd like to find some new places to fish within an hour's drive of Binghamton, NY.  Now I'm not looking for your specific honey holes or anything like that, just some new bodies of water.

I've fished the Finger Lakes and Oneida as well as Sandy Pond as far as the bigger lakes go. Now I want to look for some places maybe down into Delaware county or Chenango, Tioga among others.

So the cannonsville reservoir look intriguing from the sky, have any of you had any luck there?

I haven't fished it but I've heard good reports in the past on Whitney Point Reservoir. The other thing I've done in other areas is purchase county maps and/or zoom in on a google map and just look for small bodies that look accessible.

Take a look at Dereyter Res.  Seriously. :)

Man, I haven't heard someone say Chenengo in awhile.

That's where I was born and I must say that the fishing is pretty good.

My Grandpa worked for Central Hudson and dealt with managing lakes and fisheries.

I remember Lake Katrine and you can catch some fish there, but that was ten years ago.

Not really sure how far it is from Chenango County, but if you can drive there, I would.

Lake Katrine is a bit of a hike.  But that doesn't mean I won't try it out.  I think it's about a 3 hour drive from where I am.

Thanks for the Idea.

I fish Whitney Point Res fairly regular.  As of late it has been absolutley terrible.  I don't know if it's due to the high water levels or what.  It's been bad for just about any species.
