West Point Lake, GA

I'm headed to West Point Lake for Thanksgiving.  Anyone have any spots to share.  We will be staying at Highland Point Marina.  I have only been on the lake once, in July...just the wife and I.  This time we are taking the kids and would like to put them on some fish..

Thanks

Lee

West Point is my local fishing hole.

Check out this link:  http://www.havefunfishing.com/fishingreports/sr_westpoint_lake_fishing_report.htm

It is updated every Friday and gives good advice for what they are catching them on.  We have only a few boat ramps left open due to low water levels and in fact Highland is closed.  At lest it was a few weeks ago.  However Yellow Jacket Creek boat ramp is open and it's just 5 minutes down the road.  The west boat ramps are the only ones open.  I would suggest you buy a lake map unless you have GPS with it built in.  Also be very carefull running the lake there are tree branches popping up all over the places and in the middle of the lake where I never thought I would see them.  Good luck fishing.

Just got here and checked in.  Josh and I spent a couple of hours on the water this afternoon.  All of my spots from this summer are high and dry...Any Ideas?

I realize that my reply is late, but this is the first time I've seen your post.

Anyway, when I lived in Rico, Georgia I used to fish West Point Lake, and usually put-in at Ringer.

We never slayed the bass at West Point Lake, but we did alright (caught more spots than bigmouths).

Our best luck with largemouth bass was at the mouths of Potato Creek and New River, where they merge with the Chattahoochee.
