A 2 lb 9" largemouth??? That must have been one FAT fish! And, as far as why you are not having much luck... This time of year it not the easiest to fish. Give it another month to warm up and you might have more luck...

lol, that's what I thought.

hey i'm horrible at guessing sizes lol i need to get a scale and maybe put a tape measure in my tackle box.

hey ugly, you and I need to get together, i'm out on Braddock everynight, my deck backs up to the lake and i have a boat on the bank in one of the coves.  PM me your information and we'll get together, it's slow right now out there but i did very well in april last year, they started bedding around april 20th last year, so i expect it soon, the water is clear right now all my luck (which isn't much as of late) has been on spinnerbaits near the bank and my partner has done well on jigs,  Rob and I were out this past weekend when it got cooler an missed a bunch and he got one on a shakey head if i remember correctly.

Trev, it was on that massive tube remember.

I just wanted to say hi-- I'm new to the forum and live right behind Lake Braddock HS.  I'm a dad trying to get back into the sport after several years and looking to up my limited skills.  I've been to Royal and Burke Lake over the last couple weeks with a couple <12" LMs so far on finess worms and a couple strike outs.  I'm walking the banks and loving every second I'm out there.

Welcome to the forum okrod. The fishing has been tough the last couple weeks with all this colder than average crap. A couple days of 70 degree sun and we'll be fishing bedding bass! Keep at it, you can learn a lot on here...

Can anyone recommend a small, light weight, cheap scale?  I'm walking the banks most of the time with a hip/fanny pack.

Having lost a few lures already, I'm also wondering if anyone uses a lure retriever for when they hang-up?  Again small, light, cheap.
