April 15th - anyone fishing?

Featured Replies

I'm going fishing at Lake Braddock tomorrow morning and probably going to hit it up with Trev in the evening, if anyone would like to join us feel free too! the fishing there off the shore is just as good as fishing on a boat i say. Hope Ya'll can make it!

Chai,

I plan on going out this morning about 10, where on the lake will you be?

Chai, I'll be home at around 5:45 and I'll have to get everything ready, I'll call you and we'll hook up, and I digress, it's much better from a boat 8-)

okrod, are you Rich? I couldn't understand a message from a Rich when he said his forum name. The only thing it sounded like was okrod :-/

pkschul 6ish look for probably the only boat out there, but if there's another we're in the brown one, I'm the guy with the red beat up nats hat missing fish or changing lures :P

Trevor,

You got it right.  You'll can call me Rich or Okrod.  Okrod is a nickname anyway.  I'm heading out this morning and hope to see Chai.  I can't make it tonight but hope to get out again on Thursday.

Rich/Okrod

I wish I could join you guys, but I'm heading down to OBX for some striper fishing, and oh yeah to attend my sister's wedding.

im actually heading out now and gonna try to catch okrod, i kinda slept in for a little. but yeah trev, i got your number and you got mine, so hit me up once you're available. Hope to see you guys there

I headed over to Lake Braddock, but when i didn't see anyone I went on to Royal.  Royal was dead until about 30 minutes before I had to leave, when I saw three huge carp.  Well, I don't know what huge is for a carp but the largest was about 2 ft and fat.  They were by the point running me back and forth between stumps.  I threw everything I had that was weedless, but couldn't land one.

Does anyone have any experience with carp?

if you land a carp it will lost likely be by accident, they don't feed on our worms and stuff, they're vegetarians for the most part, especially grass carp which are just about exclusively veggy's. If you hook one it's your loss, they're nasty fish IMO and have gross lips. If you want to catch one, use bread or popcorn. Did you catch anything anywhere?

I thought I would bring one home and put it in a large bowl for my kid.   ;D

No luck, no how!

at lake crockett me and a buddy would put 1 ounce rat-l-traps on and cast over them and reel up really fast to them and set the hook, we called it carp hunting, never came away with anything though... next time your at braddock keep your eyes open for the HUGE coy in there he has to be 5-7 lbs. usually resides by the shallower lilly pads in the back cove.  He's BRIGHT orange

i've been tryin to get this one koi at a pond near my house to bite but he just laughs at me >:(

I'm going to bring some koi food i have at home and see if i can get some action on my ultralight.

got out on braddock this evening on the boat, didn't meet Chai till the last 45 minutes or so because i botched his cell number... he said he got 4 earlier in the day on a jig, i managed 2 that were about 2lbs, didn't take pics cause that's comical...  no sweat on the guys that didn't make it we'll meet up sometime soon.

Cool!  You were at the small lake next to Lake Braddock HS?

I wish I could join you guys, but I'm heading down to OBX for some striper fishing, and oh yeah to attend my sister's wedding.
