Fake lucky craft ?

Featured Replies

I was at a fishing show last weekend and a man had a few lucky craft lures and was selling them for $5. I've never used one but i know there expensive so i bought the one. It was a Pointer sp shallow runner. I was really happy with the purchase untill i got out to a local pond to test it out and it floated. I dont know if this was the reason he was selling it for $5 or if it is fake (if there is such a think as a fake lucky craft ). Also is there any way to make it suspend ?

You can make it suspend. Go to BPS and get some SuspendStrips. They work great.

Right, you can make it sink slowly too. You can use golfers tape, bigger trebles, wrap a little metal wire around the trebles, or drill and insert weight and then seal it with epoxy.

There was a guy on Ebay selling them and they are some fake ones out there. I bought three of of Ebay for six dollars each and all three were fakes. Another man has filed charges against him. They must be true because Ebay has now suspened his account and any feedbacks left by him or for him has been revolked and no longer show. The ones that he left for me is now gone.  :-? I hate liars and dishonest people with a passion.

Watch the key words on ebay. Many sellers who sell fake lures will try to use key words like "works as great as" ''real thing like".It prevents them from getting in trouble.

I used to know a guy selling purses and made a killing doing that.He never said it was the real thing.Girls just perceived that it was.  :-/

That's why it's important to really read those details.

There are companies in Japan/China that have knocked off the LC stuff.  They sent me some but it is not the same quality.  LC is made in Japan but have their specific molds and better quality matrl.

The guy I was talking was selling them as Lucky Craft. He was claiming he owned a tackle shop and was closing it down. All lures were sold as Lucky Craft lures and not look alikes. Ebay shut him down but he will most likely show back up under another seller name. Buyer beware!!!

There are so many brands out there making LC knock-offs ....

Usually the pointer, the sammy and the staysee get faked the most.

R2S has a bunch of fakes (Sammy, Pointer, Staysee and Bevyshad), and we have a lot of others brands here that fake them .... I would say almost all those fakes come from the same factory in China.

BTW Kevin, it's highly possible that the pointer you bought is a real LC... cause you mentioned that it's a Pointer but the SB/SR one (short bill/shallow runner), and there's indeed a Pointer SR 78 in floating.

But normally, it has never been distributed in the US.

If you still have a doubt, post a pic I should be able to tell you what it is.

Had to really hunt for info since Ebay pulled all feedbacks and info. Finally went to PayPal and found it.  The seller name was hootcrazed. Called the company Hoot Enterprise Outdoor Equip.  Email address was hidlite@yahoo.com.  The Item # I was taken with 1bu644169e645152p. Buyer beware if a seller only has a few feedbacks on the Lucky Craft lures.

I too noticed a guy on Ebay that was selling G-splashes and some LV something or other that were a "custom color."  They looked like the real deal but you could tell the hooks were wrong.  Guy had good feedback though.
