Goodbye florida.....hello NC

Featured Replies

:'( :'( because of work and um...... relationship problems I'm moving back to the real country goodbye to all Ive met in Florida thank you for the knowledge of fun times. Thank you especially to hale, west palm dood, avid, SE_FL_Bass Addict (especially you man),  and the others who were at the south florida get together. Going back to NC where sadly i don't really know any good spots for bass so if you NC boys wanna chime in ill be living in hickory right next to granite falls and about 45 Min's from Charlotte.

Three in your immediate neighborhood - Rhodhiss, Hickory, and Kerr Scott Resevoir. Hickory and Rhodhiss are part of the Catawba chain, and in your back yard, and Kerr Scott is out of Lenoir towards Wilkesboro. My son lived in Lenoir and would fish these lakes while visiting. I really liked Kerr Scott.

Actually you are leaving football and heading to basketball.  ;D

Rhodhiss is decent, it gets fished pretty hard this time of year though with all the tournaments. I haven't fished Hickory that much but I often here some good stories (lies). Lake James is just outside of Morganton off NC18 and has some decent Walleye, White bass, Smallmouth, and Largmouth but it is crystal clear and very hard to fish. Its also one of the most scenic lakes you will ever see. You can also enjoy watching the bald eagles on James while you fish!
