Loxahatchee on sat/sun

Featured Replies

On saturday, I went to the canal east of the ramps where it turns to the north. I caught a 3lb bass and a 20" chain pickerel.

Both fish were caught using a deep running black/gold rapala.

On sunday, I had only 2 hits. I caught a 1 lb and 5.9lb bass due north of the ramps about 100 yards into the flats. I cut a new trail through about 3 ft of sawgrass and lily pads into a 1 acre pond in the sawgrass that by the looks of it was previously not accessed often.

Both fish were caught using a wat/red trick worm.

Both days were windy and cloudy, and I was fishing 11AM-3PM.

I will post pictures later after I resize them.

Cool.  I'm glad you didn't get stuck while cutting that path but you do what you gotta do.  I would have done it too.  Don't forget about this Saturday's open tournament in Osborne.  $30 a boat.  Pay at the ramp.  I'll beout there again beatin the water.

I didn't even know we had chain pickerel down here.

Here are the pics.

I believe that is a chain pickerel.

It doesnt have the long snout like the garfish.
