Need somewhere to fish in Palm Beach!

Featured Replies

I'm a Navy recruiter in Delray Beach and I'm looking for some great bass fishing (largemouth and peacocks).  Unfortunately I don't have a boat (yet!)  If anyone could help, I would appreciate it!!  Tight Lines!

Theres a nice canal west of the turnpike on PGA, its about a mile west maybe less, theres a ramp there but it can be walked from either side efficiently.

I live in Delray and have yet to find a really good spot locally for lmb and peas, I'm boatless as well.  I do know of quite of few spots around here.

I would love to be part of a tournament or outing for wounded vets!!  my cell number is 561-670-5909, my office is located on Federal Hwy in Delray just north of Linton Blvd.  Give me a call or email (randy.murray@navy.mil) and we can try to set something up.  I might be able to get my command involved.

Everyone else, thanks for the fishing input, I will definitely check out that canal!!  I did find a good spot out in West Boca for LM, there's a park on Yamato past 441.  I tried fishing the turnpike canal on Boca Rio Rd for Peas but got skunked.  I think I'm fishing for them wrong.

I've caught some nice LMB in the Boca rio, never peas,

If you are talking about South County regional, there is a lot of water there, I managed only a few dinks there.

Yeah, South County. You have to fish the Yamato side of the park, not the Glades side. Only small ones so far on the Glades side. I've only caught a handful of dinks at the Yamato side, so far they are averaging 1.5 -2lbs. I caught nearly 30 nice bass over two days. I'm going to have to give the little hole a break now, it's only maybe an acre big. I saw 4 peacocks at Boca Rio the other day, I did hang a nice bass on the Xrap I was fishing, it shook off though. Here is a pic of one of the bass I caught at South County.

I did stop by the park off yamato a couple of weeks ago. There are quite a few small ponds there, got out of the car and the bugs were overwhelming so I left and fished the bigger lake off Glades.

There is a small pond behind a park at 441 and Clint Moore. I caught a couple nice bass in there a few weeks ago.

I have shimmied down to the Hillsborough canal at the south end of Boca rio canal, there are fresh water tarpon and snook in there.

There is a member here that has a lot of good success on golf courses down there, I think his name is Krzkev. Look him up and pm him. He seems like he could help you out.
